Under The Milky Way

Under the Milky Way
Lying on a patchwork quilt
Away from city lights; a silvery night
Under a luminous band
Naming constellations
Ten thousand reminders
Over me; proof that we
Have an inheritance uncorruptible
Under God's creation

What a beautiful poem and picture.
Ann,
That was an awesome poem, and it reminded me of all the nights when we as teenagers did the same thing. Up high on a hill, as we sat on a blanket looking up at the stars, talking--- way past the time we should--- be home.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Bobbi
Lovely. (just correct the spelling of constellations) I loved the graphic!
This is very mature Anna, I've not had time to see your stuff, but this is lovely! Happy Valentines Day, Dear! lily
A beautiful, beautiful poem ann thank you and voted up!
Awesome! I love living in the country and being able to clearly see the stars at night, don't you? Loved this one - maybe we can go star gazing sometime?
Nice one, but , are they stars or snow !
beautiful pic + beautiful poem ! Nice job
anndavis: what a cute poem thank you, but I always thought that a "Milky Way" was a chocolate bar. Ha ha ha!
Very well done. The photo is so nice, I'll simply sit and look at that and ponder the meaning of life.
A very tranquil piece of poetry. With an excellent choice of photo to accompany your work.
I cannot tell you how many times I have spent staring up at those constellations, and how many times it helped me to find answers in the fog. Jamie
I love your wonderful poem and the brilliant picture. Thank you for this pleasure. Well done! :-)
Well done and very thoughtful. This I am sure of when it says: The earth the lords and its fullness thereof. Knowing he is my father , there are no boundaries.
Well done Ann!
Bless.
Only one word here:- 'Brilliant' and here's to so many more for us both to share on here.
Take care
Eddy.

Beautiful poem; this gave me great delight.
To read of your visions in the night.
Thanks for sharing with the world,
Maybe you'll give my writing a whirl?
I always loves the tapestry of the night sky. Your poem and pic aptly illustrates such wonders. awesome!
anna, you are a great expressionist. keep up the beautiful thoughts of love and life.
anndavis25, Beautiful photo, beautiful poem! A clear night sky recalls for me this promise: "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal" (Matthew 6:20).
I have never forgotten the thrill of being awakened to a night sky sparkling with stars and seeing the Little Dipper, completely, for the first time in my life. A breathtaking beauty which is bestowed freely night after night across the millennia.
Well done.
So happy this was shared Ann must have missed this beautiful hub. Lovely in every way!

This is one of the most stunning nightime pics I´ve ever seen.
Yes your poem says it all. (and to think the bible says Almighty God knows each of the stars by name???)
Beautiful.
